The birthday of the Chairman of MCC Bank, Sahakara Ratna Mr Anil Lobo, was celebrated at the Administrative Office of the Bank on 16.12.2025. On the occasion, the Chairman cut the birthday cake amidst joy and happiness.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Board of Management, Mr. Anil Patrao, Director, presented a floral bouquet to the Chairman. Representing the staff members, the General Manager, Mr. Sunil Menezes, and the Deputy General Manager, Mr. Raj Menezes, also offered floral bouquets and extended their heartfelt wishes.

In reply to the warm birthday wishes, the Chairman expressed his gratitude for arranging the celebration. He stated that God has bestowed everyone with special strength and talent, and it is our responsibility to utilise them with courage. He emphasized that for any work, being a specialist is not essential; what matters is dedication and commitment.

He mentioned that when he took charge of the Bank, he had a clear vision for its development. For any achievement, education alone is not sufficient; it serves only as an eligibility criterion. When education is combined with practical experience and a clear understanding of stakeholders’ expectations, any goal can be achieved. He said that this was the most important lesson he had learned from his leadership journey from the very first day of his leadership.

He acknowledged that his achievements were not solely due to his efforts but were also the result of the support and encouragement of society and well-wishers. While there were some negative voices, many more motivated him with positive and constructive words, helping him to move forward. He emphasized that he progressed with positive thinking and a clear focus on goals, even in the face of challenges.

He thanked God for His blessings and for the prayers of all well-wishers. Addressing the staff, he stated that every staff member should strive to be an achiever by focusing on performance. Challenges exist everywhere, but a birthday is a moment to reflect on the past and move forward with renewed determination.

He pointed out that the Chairman is often held accountable for all issues, whether related to staff, regulatory authorities, or departments. Therefore, he appealed to all staff members to work with commitment and a sense of ownership, treating the Bank as their own home, as only then can the Bank progress.

He further emphasized the importance of achieving monthly targets and stated that the trust of the general public in the Bank is built entirely by the staff, who are the true brand ambassadors of the institution. He appreciated the staff for working in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, describing it as a positive sign of development. He concluded by expressing his heartfelt thanks to all staff members, from the General Manager to the attenders.

While speaking on the occasion, Mr C. G. Pinto, Director, explained the purpose and significance of the celebration and expressed his gratitude. He stated that a birthday marks the day a person comes into this world. While the individual may not remember that day, others know of the child’s birth, and parents, in particular, place great expectations on the child to bring name and fame to the family.

He further stated that the Chairman has devoted his time and wholehearted support to the Bank. The Bank has been built on a strong foundation, which would not have been possible without his commitment and firm stand. There were many challenges, and he has faced them courageously from day one. Despite the hardships and efforts involved, he has emerged very successfully, as he clearly understood from the beginning that the Bank required a strong foundation.

He emphasized that financial improvement was the first priority, followed by strengthening infrastructure and enhancing the visibility of the Bank, all of which have been successfully achieved. The first level of development has already been completed, and preparations are underway for the second level. Under his leadership, the number of branches has increased from 16 to 21, with significant growth in deposits and advances.

He also highlighted that such progress requires great courage, dedication, and hard work, all of which the Chairman has demonstrated by devoting his time to the Bank. He has worked tirelessly to build a strong team, knowing that the future of the Bank depends on its staff. Today, the Bank has a clear succession plan, and the Chairman’s contribution to this is immense. He described the Chairman as the shepherd of the Bank and acknowledged his pivotal role in building the MCC Bank brand.

For all these contributions, he expressed his heartfelt gratitude and wished the Chairman happiness, good health, strength, wisdom, and continued success in the years ahead.

Mr. Raj Menezes, Deputy General Manager, while addressing the gathering, extended heartfelt birthday wishes to the Chairman on behalf of all those present.
