The Management and Staff of MCC Bank celebrated The Grand Christmas Gala 2025 in a splendid and joyous manner at Skate City, Hoigebail, Ashoknagar, on the eve of 13th December 2025, bringing together Directors, employees, and their families in the true spirit of Christmas. 

The gala was formally inaugurated by the Chairman, Sahakara Ratna Mr. Anil Lobo, along with Chief Guest Prof. CA Lionel Aranha, members of the Board of Directors, General Manager, Dy General Manager and Santa Claus, through the ceremonial cutting of the Christmas cake.  

 

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Sahakara Ratna Mr Anil Lobo expressed immense happiness in celebrating Christmas with the families of the Directors and staff members. He noted with pride that MCC Bank is celebrating Christmas for the third consecutive year, reflecting the institution’s strong commitment to employee bonding and cultural harmony. Extending his warm wishes, he conveyed greetings for a joyous, fun-filled Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2026. 

 

 

 

The celebration commenced on a positive note with a melodious prayer song by the Blue Angels Choir, setting a festive atmosphere. The arrival of Santa Claus added cheer and excitement, instantly energising the gathering and delighting both children and adults alike. 

 

In his address, Chief Guest Prof. CA Lionel Aranha thanked the Chairman and the Bank for the invitation. He highlighted that the true spirit of Christmas for bankers lies in serving customers with dedication, integrity, and a smile, thereby gaining their trust and contributing to the sustained growth and success of the Bank. 

 

On the occasion, Chairman Mr. Anil Lobo was felicitated on being conferred with the prestigious Taulava Sahakari Manikya Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the co-operative banking sector presented by Tulunada Rakshana Vedike and Tulunada Soorya Patrike. Mrs. Irene Rebello, Director of the Bank, explained the purpose and significance of the felicitation.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Prof. CA Lionel Aranha, who will be celebrating his 60th birthday on 20 December 2025, was also honoured. 

 

 

 

Adding value to the celebration, Mr Michael D’Souza, accompanied by his family, joined the festivities and appreciated the Chairman and the Board of Directors for organising such a grand and meaningful event. In his Christmas message, he reminded the gathering of the importance of staying connected to one’s roots—respecting parents (Mai-bab), contributing to the development of one’s hometown (Mai gaun), and preserving the mother tongue (Mai bhas).  

 

 

 

 

The event was further blessed by the presence of Rev. Fr Bonaventure Nazareth, Parish Priest of Milagres Church; Rev. Dr J. B. Saldanha, Parish Priest of Bejai Church; and Rev. Fr Maxim Rosario, Mangalore Diocesan Estate Manager, who delivered inspiring Christmas messages emphasizing faith, compassion, and social responsibility.  

 

 

 

A special felicitation was accorded to Mr Pradeep D’Souza, Manager of the Udupi Branch, and his wife Mrs Lorraine D’Souza, on the occasion of their 10th wedding anniversary. Birthday wishes were conveyed to the daughter of Mrs. Saritha from the Brahmavar Branch. 

 

The Blue Angels Choir captivated the audience with soul-stirring Christmas carols.  

 

A major highlight was the outstanding dance performance by Ms Remona Pereira, who recently entered the Golden Book of Records, along with her team, Their visually rich dance presentation depicting the Birth of Jesus Christ held the audience spellbound and earned thunderous applause. 

 

 

 

 

 

Several spot games were conducted, with winners receiving attractive prizes.  

 

 

 

 

 

Prizes were distributed to MCC Bank branches for their exceptional Christmas decorations, reinforcing creativity and team spirit The 1st prize shared by Founders and Kulshekar Branches, 2nd Prize bagged by Kundapur, 3rd Prize Udupi, 4th Prize Kankanady and 5th prize by Byndoor Branch.  

 

 

 

 

 

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Sunil Menezes, General Manager of MCC Bank, acknowledging all dignitaries, participants, and organisers. The event was compered by Ms Lavita D’Souza, Mulki.  

 

 

A lively Christmas line dance, performed enthusiastically by the participants, further elevated the festive mood.
